Honiara|: Solomon Airlines has announced an expanded international flight schedule from March 2026, introducing new routes and increased frequencies connecting the Solomon Islands with Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand.
The airline said the changes are intended to strengthen regional air links and improve travel options for leisure, trade and government travel across the Pacific.
From 30 March 2026, Solomon Airlines will re-establish a weekly service between Honiara and Port Vila. The Port Vila–Honiara flight will operate on Mondays, with the return service from Honiara to Port Vila on Tuesdays.
The schedule allows onward connections between Auckland and Honiara via Port Vila in both directions.
A new weekly service between Honiara and Port Moresby will begin on 31 March 2026, with flights operating on Tuesdays. The airline said the schedule has been timed to allow connections with international services operating between Port Moresby and Asia, including flights to major Asian hubs. The route will also enable connections between Port Moresby and Port Vila via Honiara.
From 1 July 2026, Solomon Airlines will introduce twice-weekly direct flights between Christchurch and Port Vila. Services from Port Vila to Christchurch will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with return flights from Christchurch to Port Vila on Thursdays and Sundays.
Services between Auckland and Port Vila will increase to four direct flights per week from 1 July 2026. For the period from 29 March to 30 June 2026, flights from Auckland to Port Vila will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with return flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
From 1 July 2026 onwards, Auckland to Port Vila flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with return services on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
In Australia, Solomon Airlines will add a second weekly service between Brisbane and Santo, in addition to its existing Thursday flight. The additional service will operate on Saturdays from 4 April to 27 June 2026, and on Tuesdays from 7 July 2026 to 26 January 2027.
Solomon Airlines said minor timetable adjustments would be made to accommodate the expanded schedule. Passengers with existing bookings affected by the changes will be contacted directly and offered alternative travel options at no additional cost.
The airline said the revised schedule forms part of its ongoing international operations and will be introduced progressively from late March 2026.
